"They really want to help us find a location," Matthew DeBernardo of Stratford Dog Park said. "They think it's a great addition to the community." Proponents of the off-leash site have formed a 501c3 nonprofit and have begun raising money. Events include a pub crawl in late July and a road race Aug. 11 at Short Beach.
