National Dog Park Day 2018

Happy National Dog Park Day!!

We may not have a park to go to just yet but we are still celebrating today because we are very excited to present the preliminary design plan renderings for Jared’s Dog Park!

Members of the Stratford Dog Park Action Committee worked with the Town Engineer and the Town Conservation Officer to create a layout that maximizes the use of the space available while blending the park into the natural setting of Roosevelt Forest.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to Max Jaekle for volunteering his time and emerging talents to take that layout and create the dimensional CAD (computer aided design) renderings below. These images really give a great feel for what to expect at Jared’s Dog Park. Max is graduating from Bunnell High School in a few short weeks and will be off to college in the Fall to study to become an Architectural Engineer. This is a truly impressive start to a very bright future! Great work Max!

As the renderings show, there will be plenty of room for our pups to stretch their legs and work those sniffers for beneficial mental and physical exercise! The large dog area will be just about 1 acre and the small dog area approximately 1/2 an acre.

Jared’s Dog Park will have a large double gated entry/exit area to allow visitors to make sure all dogs are securely inside the park area or safely leashed before the gate to the exterior is opened. All of the existing mature trees at the site will remain for shade to keep both people and pups cool on sunny days. There will be water fountains, benches, agility obstacles and most importantly waste stations with bags and receptacles to ensure the park is kept a clean and enjoyable place for all!

Updates on the construction process will continue to be shared as they become available.
